My
first exhibition
My first exhibition space was in 1970 a Glass
showcase in front of a drugstore.
One of my pictures was stolen from the
showcase. The mother of the young "thief" brought it back a few
days after and I was mighty proud that it went down so well.
The picture was a Formula 2 BMW that I did
with black Plaka colour
on a white cardboard box.
Not only in those years but for many years
afterwards (until today?) I was enthusiastic about racing and sports cars
and I painted a few more.
To this end, I have also trained myself
extensively on a self-taught basis - mostly during Latin lessons at
school, which my teachers didn't like.
When asked about it later, I whispered that
the teachers thought I was so great and wanted the younger class to have
something from me too.
However, that didn't
make this profession any more attractive to me.
