Last
Call
At the first exhibition of the artist circle
Ötigheim
I
exhibited some of my art works.
The
picture of the scene on the Place Igor Stravinsky pleased so good that it
found a buyer at soon.
He wanted
to buy the picture as a "last call" and I assumed that meant
that if
no one else bought it, he would get it.
After
many weeks had passed I had no more good feeling and
I thought
the business had failed.
I
remembered this old sales rule which says that a deal does not
come
about when the customer has time to think it over again.
Wilhelm
Busch also had a wisdom about this:
"Often
you meet one who paints pictures, but seldom one who pays them."
(free
translation of me in cooperation with the Google translator).
Finally,
there was still a payment transfer and so it came to a happy ending.
